Lafayette ES was a vert unique fast paced design build project. The project involved four different types of roofing systems, PVC, Copper, Synthetic Slate, and Hot Fluid Applied, as well as a 29,000 SF green roof installed over top both PVC and hot applied systems. We also completed all of the existing building’s slate repair, the built in gutters were replaced as well as all of the expansion joints. HRGM also installed all of the below grade waterproofing.
HRGM was contracted to install the roof on the Newly Constructed Ballou Sr. High School in Washington, DC. The scope includes installation of all metal sidings, metal panels and metal flashings. It is a PVC roofing system and also includes sheet metal roofing bituminous vapor retarders and flashings. We also installed gutters, downspouts, metal fascia, expansion joints, elevated pavers, gravel stops and walkway protection pads.
HRGM performed a complete tear-off and replacement of 7 roofs, totaling approximately 90,000 square feet. We installed a new, fully adhered, 80 mil Sarnafil PVC roof system with 4″ of poly iso insulation and 1/4″ coverboard underneath the PVC membrane, warrantied for 30 years. Also installed all sheet metal and flashing work at the roof. HRGM was awarded Sika Sarnafil’s 2014 Project of the Year Award for the Cardozo SHS Roof.
HRGM was contracted to perform a complete tear-off and replacement of 3 roofs, totaling approximately 45,000 SF (450 Squares). We installed a new, fully adhered TPO system over both structural steel and concrete decking, including new gutters, skylight system, scuppers, and custom colored metal coping. Project also involved installation of new metal panels on exterior of building.
HRGM was awarded the Roof Installation at the new Barry Farms Recreation Center in Washington, DC. We installed below grade water-proofing and installed a Plaza Slab. We installed all edge metal and all downspouts. We used cold applied water-proofing and used a T.P.O roofing system. We also laid a Green Roof area. The total roof size was 33,000 SqFt.
HRGM was awarded the re-installation of the Roosevelt Senior High School. We installed below grade water proofing and a new Sarnafil PVC roof. We also installed new coping and edge metal. We installed 2,400 SF of copper roofing. We used hot applied plaza slab water-proofing and install 11,000 SF of concrete pavers. We also installed the gutter system for the skylights and 600 SF of green roofing area.
HRGM was selected to Install the roof on the new Brookland Middle School Structure. This is a 70,500 Sqft roof in which we used a 72 Mil PVC Sarnafil roofing system with leak detection. We used a Paver system for a new outdoor classroom which is 3,000 Sqft. The pavers range in multiple sizes from 6” wide to 24” wide. There was also installation of metal coping and metal gutters and downspouts.
HRGM was selected to remove and replace the entire roof at the DC Office of Cable Television.WE installation of a fully tapered insulation system, cover board, and TPO roofing membrane over the entirety of the 30,000 SF building. In addition to the roof membrane, we also removed and replaced the building’s edge metal system. We also installed a 3,000 SqFt. Carlisle Hydropack green roof tray system and a 1,500 SqFt. Hanover Concrete paver pedestal system.
HRGM was awarded the Roof Replacement at Mann Elementary School in Washington, DC. We installed a new PVC roof which included a sloped decor PVC roof to mimic a standing seam metal roof. There was 13,000 SqFt. of new roof installation. We also installed 6,000 SqFt of concrete pavers. The total roof area was 35,000 SqFt.
HRGM was contracted through Whiting-Turner on a two phase project at Van Ness ES. The first phase involved removing the existing 16,000 SF roof and installing a new 80 mil PVC Sarnafil system. The second phase was far more involved including replacing some older roofs, installing new roofing, installing new ACM metal wall panels, Standing seam metal wall panels, as well as copingss, mechanical screen walls, gutters, downspouts, and a 3,000 SF green roof.
HRGM was contracted directly with DGS to remove the existing Modified Bitumen roof and replace it with a 72 mil Sika Sarnafil PVC. This project was very challenging due to the time constraints of completion as well as the very unique flashing and parapet details. The school had historic stone copings that had to be maintained, which led to some unique parapet flashing details. The project size was approximately 40,000 SF and was completed over summer break.
HRGM was contracted directly with DGS to remove the existing gym/multipurpose roof at Raymond ES and install a new White PVC roof and Architectural Decor PVC roof. The total roof size was approximately 8,000 SF, but unique because it used white PVC for the flat non-visible portions and Dark Lead Gray Decor PVC for the visible sloping roof portions. The Decor PVC roof mimics a standing seam metal roof, so it kept the same aesthetics as the previous roof but increased its performance.
HRGM was contracted to perform a complete tear-off and replacement of 3 roofs, 2 walkways, and 2 stairwells totaling approximately 43,000 SF (430 squares). HRGM installed a new, fully adhered fleeceback Hyload system over both structural steel and concrete decking. We installed new flashings, drains, and metal copings.
New construction of Versico 2 metal roofs and 1 EPDM roof. Approximate roof replacement included 30,000SF total. In addition, HRGM installation of metal wall panels, exposed metal trim and fascia units, pre-finished rain water leaders, downspouts and gutters. Metal Wall panels were fabricated onsite due to the length required for each panel.
HRGM performed a combination of new roofing and modifications to the existing roofing system to complete the repair of the River Terrace Elementary School. We installed a new Sarnafil PVC roof complete with radius and arched metal. We installed 100 Solatube skylights, 3 pyramid skylights, and 5 domed skylights. We installed 18,000 SF of route and seal composite metal panels. The total roof size was 86,000 SF.
HRGM was contracted to remove and replace historic natural slate roofing, approximately 16,000 SF, including installation of copper cornice. We tuck-pointed the chimney brick, repaired concrete coping, removed and replaced deteriorated wood. We repaired the decking and installed a WeatherBug HD Weather Station.
HRGM was contracted to complete a tear of of the existing roof. We removed approximately 15,000 SF (150 squares). We installed a new Firestone 60 mil TPO roof with tapered insulation. Work included demolition of skylights, fascia, and metal coping. We fabricated new metal in-house and installed.
HRGM performed a complete tear off and replacement of the existing roof at West Elementary School in DC. We installed new Sarnafil Décor PVC roof. This product is intended to look like a standing seam metal roof and involved careful welding of the Décor strips to membrane. We also fabricated and installed counter-flashing and drip edges.
